Girls weekend!

Wow, I can't believe what a great weekend I had!  I realize it's been awhile since my last post, so to catch you up- life has been crazy with settling in to Lexington and starting school.  I've been able to hang out with Whitney and Blair some, which has been a nice distraction.  And they were kind enough to invite me on a girls trip this weekend!  A group of their friends gets together every year for a trip and some quality girls time.  I was nervous about being the new girl in the group, but all of their friends were so nice and welcomed me like we had all known each other forever!

We spent the weekend in Louisville.  Because of school stuff, I came up to the hotel later and met everyone.  We had a really nice suite right in downtown.  Unfortunately, we had planned on going to a Louisville River Bats baseball game when I arrived that evening, but it rained so we ended up just hanging out in the room for a few hours.  However, Beth, Whitney and I were able to make our own fun :)

Later on that night, we got all dressed up for a fancy dinner out!  It was fun to put our dresses on, do our makeup, and take lots of pics.  Especially a fun mirror group selfie!

After dinner, the girls went out to some of the local bars, but I had some studying to catch up on so I went back to the hotel.  It was nice to have a quiet place to study for a few hours.  And then I got to hear all about the adventures the group had when they returned!

It was a short trip to Louisville, and we returned to Lexington Sunday afternoon.  I think I can speak for all of us when I say I was exhausted and spent the rest of the day sleeping on the couch!  Since Monday was a holiday here, Rebecca invited us all to her family's pool to spend one last day of summer in the sun.  Whitney, Dana, Becca, Blair and I all had a great afternoon eating junk food and laying out.

I'm so thankful to be settling in and meeting such great people!  I look forward to all the ordinary Lexington things I'll get to do with my new friends!
